Experience the Magic of the Feria de Sevilla in 2026: Your Guide to Spain’s Biggest Celebration

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into timeless elegance, majestic horses, and dancing until dawn, the Seville April Fair is your destination. For travelers seeking authenticity, this isn’t just a fair; it’s the soul of Andalusia made a reality.

When to Go: Mark Your Calendar for 2026

In 2026, the Fair will take place from April 21 to 26. The magic officially begins at midnight on Tuesday with the “Alumbrao,” when thousands of lights illuminate the spectacular entrance gate.

Monday, April 20: The famous “Pescaíto Dinner”, before the official opening and just for people who are part of a “caseta” (special tents where people dance, eat, drink and enjoy).

Tuesday, April 21: The most important day for locals and the official start.

Sunday, April 26: Grand finale with a fireworks display over the Guadalquivir.

What Makes the Feria de Sevilla so special?

Imagine a “temporary city” called the Real, with more than 1,000 “casetas” decorated with stringed lights and flowers.

The Horse Parade: During the day, carriages and riders dressed in their finest travel attire along the sandy streets.

Flamenco and Sevillanas: You won’t see staged shows for tourists, but entire families dancing Sevillanas purely for enjoyment.

Local Cuisine: You must try “rebujito” (fino or manzanilla wine mixed with lemon-lime soda) and tapas like ham, Spanish omelet, and fried “pescaíto.”

Expert Tips for Travelers (Dress Code and Etiquette)

Dress to Impress: People from Seville take fashion very seriously. You don’t need a flamenco dress but go for your “Sunday Best” (suit for men, elegant dress for women).

The Caseta Dilemma: Most are private. However, there are some public casetas open to everyone where you can enjoy food and dancing without an invitation.

Smart Footwear: The ground is made of albero (golden sand) that stains easily. Wear comfortable shoes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.

Day vs. Night: Daytime is for horses and elegance; nighttime is for partying and dancing.

The most important tip: enjoy yourself!!!
